Let’s Talk
Welcome to my website, which reveals why you can’t have a good democracy without a strong public school system, and it provides a plan for education reform as a path to a stronger public school system and smarter society.
Both are in peril.
I am currently writing a book about this topic as well, one that takes long and complex aspects of the culture, of education, and of democracy, and interprets it and sets it next to the evolution of public schools in the United States.
As we move through this current troubling and divisive time in our democracy, I am confident that if everyone can work together for the common good, and we can work together for the good of the democracy, then our great experiment in self-government will survive. Education is the key to saving the kingdom.
Strong democracies and strong public schools don’t need everyone thinking the same thing to be successful. In fact, you can’t have a strong democracy without people disagreeing.
That’s the point.
We don’t all need to agree.
We do need to have a conversation.
So, let’s talk.
That’s democracy in action.
Wow, I like the linkage to Democracy which is now weakening…largely due to the fact that citizens don’t really understand that a democracy works thorough knowing how to participate, being engaged in political decisions and building the common good. The other key foundation, is an economy to works for all not just the top 1%. We need to rethink how capitalism is structured to bring labor into the central flow of corporate power. Then, profits, resources and policies will be balanced between labor and capitalism or what I call a Labor-Capitalist economy.
